The Archers Word
Flight archery - action
An archery event in which arrows are shot as far away as possible; accuracy or penetrating power are of no importance.
Even though this discipline is by far performed as a minority group in the general archery world, it is the most technically applied. One could compare it with the Formula I and the world of cars. Not only does Flight archery take it to the limits of bow, arrow and archer, but the benefits in engineering behind it are adapted then to the rest of the world of archery. Carbon arrows are for example a benefit from flight archery discipline, first time used in the world of archery by American Flight archer Rulon Hancock.
Even so, flight archery is not only for the best archery engineers. There are several events with different categories which include the participation of normal recurves, tradtional bows, compounds or even crossbows.

Friendly note:
- Flight archery events are well organized! In other words, do NOT shoot up an arrow up into the air, especially not vertically, unless you can gurantee no life in the possible vicinity of the arrow flight path. In some places, shooting an arrow into the air is illegal unless otherwise mentioned.
